Therapist in Phoenix, AZ, Oregon, & Connecticut
Hi, I’m Beth Freese (she/her), LPC, DBR Therapist, Trauma Therapist, and Chronic Pain Management Specialist
(she/her/hers)
You’ve tried it all — and still feel stuck
Journaling. Meditation. Deep breaths. Even years of therapy.
And still… your nervous system won’t let you catch a break.
You want more than coping skills
You’re not here for a therapist who just nods along. You want real change — work that doesn’t just look good on the outside, but actually feels better on the inside.
Who I work with
I help high-functioning adults in Arizona and Connecticut who are smart, funny, capable — and totally worn out from holding it all together. Most of my clients have tried therapy before, but nothing stuck. With me, you’ll go deeper, so you can finally move out of survival mode and into a life that feels calmer, more connected, and fully your own.
My approach to therapy
I don’t do quick fixes. Or cookie-cutter therapy. With me, it’s collaborative, relational, and direct. We’ll get underneath the surface — what’s happening in your body, your story, your relationships, and your environment.
Some sessions will be about calming your nervous system. Others might be connecting dots from your past, naming patterns you’ve carried, or finally giving words to the grief you’ve been holding.
We’ll go at your pace — but we won’t stay stuck.
How is therapy with me different?
Many clients I work with have done traditional talk therapy before. They’ve learned how to survive. Now they want to get unstuck—and actually feel better in their body and their life.
I bring a blend of somatic awareness, attachment work, neuroscience, and trauma-focused approaches (like Deep Brain Reorienting and parts work). I’ll show up fully so you can, too—no performance, no sugarcoating.
If you’re looking for a trauma therapist in Phoenix who gets the mind-body connection and won’t just nod along—I’d love to hear from you.

Methods
Deep Brain Reorienting
Where your earliest trauma responses live in the brainstem, DBR helps gently release them for deep, lasting healing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
How you think shapes how you feel—CBT helps shift unhelpful thought patterns into clarity and calm.
Chronic Pain Management
Pain isn’t just physical—it’s stored in the nervous system. Chronic Pain Therapy helps your body find relief and safety again
Parts Work
We all have different parts of ourselves—Parts Work helps you understand and heal them with compassion.
